About me
I'm a junior at Cupertino High School, and as the Director of Systems, I update and manage all software systems for YAPA Kids to function smoothly. Specifically, I update the website, spreadsheets, and forms to monitor, store, and organize data that YAPA Kids uses to run the organization. I'm also in charge of ensuring that all YAPA Kids members have access to the necessary software and files they need.
What do you enjoy about YAPA Kids?
I enjoy my time at YAPA Kids because the organization allows me to share my knowledge and experiences with students all over the world in various subject areas, which is especially crucial when students have had limited educational opportunities due to the pandemic. Not only is it rewarding to teach young students new information, but it is equally rewarding - if not more - to see the tangible impact of my efforts; for example, when students build off information they learn and apply it to the real world in unique ways. I love working with various leadership teams and teachers in YAPA Kids, making the experience even more of a fun one.
What have you learned from your experiences at YAPA Kids?
YAPA Kids has allowed me to learn and use many practical skills that I will use throughout my life such as leadership, communication, and collaboration in addition to technical skills such as website design and data management. Above all, YAPA Kids has given me the perfect opportunities to make a significant difference in the world around me, which I am very grateful for.
