Program Description: This YAPA Kids history program allows students to explore the past and navigate the complexities and nuances of history. The course teaches past events from a global perspective, so there will always be something new to discover. Through fun games and reenactments, students will sharpen their historical thinking skills, which include analyzing primary source documents and drawing parallels to the present day. Instead of just teaching the facts, local high schoolers will tell engaging stories to kindle a love for history. Andy Fung
Hi! My name is Andy Fung, and I'm going to be a high school senior for the 2021-22 school year. My interest in history began when my dad started talking to me about how my family came from China to America. Since then, I've taken the AP World History and AP US History exams and have done my own reading in my spare time. I hope that I'll be able to give the best history experience to my students- see you soon!

I am very fluent in American and European history along with its impacts on the greater world, but I am still knowledgeable and well rounded in most of the worlds history. I can't wait to get on board with helping students learn the wonders of world history!

It is the story of how we got to where we are today. It is the story of how people think and how they act. It tells the tale of society. I look forward to teaching in class!
Kira O'Gorman
Hello! I'm Kira O'Gorman, and I'm a rising senior at Canyon Crest Academy. From a young age I have been captivated by history, especially ancient civilizations! I've taken AP World History, AP US History, and AP European History. I think it's particularly important to analyze history from different angles in order to find an unbiased version of the story, but paying attention to prejudices from several sides also provides valuable insight to how the story/event evolved. I had some amazing history teachers and I'm excited to pass on what I've experienced to you!
